Comments

Note heavily barred tail in this immature bird; the adult has also a barred tail and is dark grey above and rufous below. An unobstrusive raptor, which sits on a branch and catches its prey by droping on to it. Preys include monkeys, which the eagle will capture only if it gets the monkey by surprise. Other preys include Blue Duikers (one of the smallest antilopes), hyraxes, hares and guineafowl.
